What are a few entry level jobs that pay well in economics

They are definitely not gone - I have been offered several of them. There are not as many entry level jobs available for research quants in derivatives pricing as there were 10-15 years ago as much of the theory has been well established.

Several prominent hedge funds  have started building our new machine learning teams and I would expect this trend to continue.There are some traders who get paid $200K+ at entry level if they're good enough.


Data Scientists are most sought after these days. Really highly paid.

Needs a very good understanding of statistics, statistical analysis and tools, algorithmic thinking, some amount of visualization techniques etc.,

Investment Banking or nieche consultancies. Also, working in International organization would give you good pay and alot of perks

Economic Consultant.
Compensation and Benefits Manager.
Actuary.
Credit Analyst.
Financial Analyst.
Policy Analyst.
Lawyer.
Management Consultant.
Business Reporter.

All of them need some specific ares of expertise.
